Developing a 10X Mind-Set is definitely the most important factor in accelerating your success. However, in terms of the actual logistics of increasing your company valuation, there are three key principles you must understand: The 3M concepts of Moat, Meaning, and Management.

M1: Moat

Your Moat is the buffer you build to protect you and your business. Investors want to see what you are doing to insure the sustainability of your organization, so your Moat is integral in determining the value of your business during these chaotic and transforming times.

Your Moat will protect your company from dematerialization—the gradual trend in the market place toward placing more value on non-material things than on material objects. A good example of dematerialization in the business is Tower Records vs iTunes.

iTunes replaced Tower Records, a behemoth with millions of dollars in physical assets, with online purchasing and no physical inventory. Tower Records did not have a plan to adapt to changing technology; no Moat = the end of the line for them.

As trends shift and change, are you positioned to adapt? Your Moat is critical to creating sustainability for your organization. You need to learn how create it, and to monetize its value.

M2: Meaning

How relevant is your company to consumers? What is it’s Meaning to them? Do you have a plan to STAY relevant in these times of rapid change in both technology and economic conditions?

The severe fluctuation in the value of money coupled with the ever-growing reliance on IP or Intellectual Property gives us some very strong clues where this economy is heading.

We can look at the newspaper industry as an example of losing relevance. It lost one of its most consistent sources of revenue, classified ads, as a direct result of the appearance of the free online classifieds site, craigslist.com. Something of high-perceived value all of a sudden becomes worthless because something better came out and it’s free.

This demonstrates how volatile current market conditions are, and it shows how essential it is to determine the Meaning (M2) of your company and its products to your customers in order to evaluate your long-term value and profit potential.

M3: Management

Management, as defined here, is positioning your company to maximize funding opportunities by increasing your valuation.

You can take advantage of the greatest opportunity in the history of finance by learning the value of your Intellectual Property. Armed with this knowledge; you can automatically position your business to receive any funding request you make.
